According to the some guides, like the Prima one, states that you can raise the affinity levels of Curie, Nick, Piper, Cait, Preston, Cogworth, and Hancock by 'Donate Item'. They just don't say what the hell meant by this. The Sim Settlements mod expansion means your companions can build and govern your Commonwealth outposts for you. You can assign a city leader for each settlement, choosing from Fallout 4's NPCs companions, and put them in charge, as if making them mayor. They'll begin by scrapping the settlement, decide for themselves where zoned plots should be. Making Longfellow like you results in a unique perk, just like Other Companions in Fallout 4. Get your character to max affinity with Longfellow, and you'll receive the Hunter's Wisdom Perk. It is one of the best Companion Perks in Fallout 4. The Hunter's Wisdom Perk reduces the damage and energy resistance of animals and sea creatures by 25%, allowing you to do more damage to them.
