There are other x70 units (e.g., 275T, 775T), but this is the newest, at least until the 2370LT comes out in the next few months. Be sure the lifetime maps apply to both Europe and N. On TomTom WTE units, it only applies to one.A model with the European map chip and the same features would be the same as the 1370T.

The 1390T is close, though it includes junction view, not found on the 1370T.There was a lockup problem on the 1xxx series. A firmware update in July addressed that. Hope this helps! I just returned from a 2 week car trip in France. I have a Garmin 1450. It has the 5 inch screen which I love. I purchased the European chip to go in it.

Garmin Gps

It is a big screen mounted on the windshield. Easy in the line of vision. It worked beautifully. It works as well as the ones at home.

It took a while to adjust to the satellites in Europe after I arrived, but once it did. Be aware in Europe some of the streets are one way and may not be reflected by the GPS.

I paid about $80 for the micro chip to go in the GPS. Would never attempt to drive without it. I now have driven all over Ireland, France, Germany and Italy with a Garmin with the European chip. I would highly recommend it. Dear Rich,I purchased a new Garmin 1370T at the Ramsden US Army post in Germany in 2009, that was advertised with lifelong map updates.

Junction view on a Nuvi 1450. Sun, - 7:14am. I've had a Nuvi 1450 for several weeks and for the first time I had the opportunity to see Junction View in action. It was totally cool, BUT I don't much care for its implementation.

I recently tried to update my maps for the first time and wastold I’d have to buy them. Is this normal Garmin customer service?

Also, last week my 1370T wentoff while on a trip in US. I turned on the power switch and it worked a while. It stopped again, wasturned on again and stopped again—etc. Until it finally died. It seems to be a power thing andwon’t work now. Is it the battery?

How do I buy a new one? Thanks for your help.

@Luca.LongaFlashing with this splash is a good start to enabling routes on 13xx. This is easy and safe, the rest is fraught with danger and not for the feint hearted or inexperienced. Asian 14xx fw is the only way as far as i know. Have a good look thru this thread: Only registered and activated users can see links.

In the last post dasilvarsa report enabling custom routes and more using modded Nuvi1480360 JPN fw, but there were many hurdles and he lost Pedestrian Mode. Maybe you should post in that thread for help after you read it entirely. Popotnik has posted a method of doing this modification by using SD Card.Might be useful if you do not wish to use pre-boot mode./quote Popotnik (translated)Here are files for 12xx series and 13xx/14xx to update via SD card Logo.Instructions are in the package.13xx/14xx non-MTK (0972 )logo via SD Only registered and activated users can see links. 12xx non-MTK (0971) logo via SD Only registered and activated users can see links. /unquote PopotnikIt works by flashing region 16 directly with the logo.bin using the xrgn method.referenceOnly registered and activated users can see links. Quick question, I just flashed v5.8 as indicated here with updater(folowed instructions exactly), everything went ok, I got the done message, pressed OK, but I see no difference in GPS, no limit indicator, I have a nuvi 1200, put the original update.gcd back as well after finished.I used the status screen method and not the preboot.is there anyway to tell if the upload was really successful?thanksBTW: when run update, choose USB, it told me the version I tried to update was same, I told to overwrite, and everything went fine till completion.
