I played through 2033 on survival/normal, and I really felt immersed in the Metro universe. It was the right difficulty for me (except for the library.

Oh god the library). Anyway, since I really loved it, I want to jump into Last Light right away. However, I'm told that the play style is different in LL. I've read that it's more run and gunning rather than survival/horror aspect of 2033.

My question is, should I play LL Redux on survival or spartan? And do you think I should play ranger on a first time playthrough? Want to start this ASAP, but I want to do it the way it should be done. Im playing on survival and I really enjoy it. It brought back the hardcore elements of never having enough ammo or medkits. I even ran out of filters once on the surface and died a few times.

That made me have to go into extreme strategy mode to finish that level. Im on ranger and it is hard, but not too hard. A lot more cover taking and trying to be stealthy, otherwise you run into problems in larger groups. Keeps it more interesting and immersive in my opinion.Edit: This is my first run through as well.

I've just recently bought the Metro Redux bundle which includes 2033 and Last Light, as I've read so many good reviews about the games over the past few years.Anyway, I'm at the part where I have to choose to play Survival or Spartan, and I really don't know what to pick. From what I've read, if I want to play Metro 2033 as it was originally made, I should pick Survival?I just don't know if I'll be missing out on any important gameplay features by choosing Survival over Spartan.If you guys could help me out I'd appreciate it, thanks. As for ranger mode, or not to ranger mode it is up to you. On ranger mode you only get 2 weapon slots instead of 3, however the plus side is enemies have less hp. Ammo is supposedly harder to come by, but if you keep all the ammo you find you can just pick up a different gun when one runs of a type and you'll therefor always have plenty. This does mean however: that you can't get attached to a gun.meaning don't buy any guns because youll have to drop it for another before long.as long as you don't buy any guns, or too many attachments though youll always have money to get everything else and thensome.
